How it works

How it works for Customers:

  • The minimum 3 hours per cleaning visit applies to regular cleaning services (£20/hour/cleaner)
  • The Customers must provide cleaning products and equipment for regular cleaning services.
  • The minimum of 4 hours per cleaning visit applies to One-Off cleaning services ( £25/hour/cleaner)
  • Cleaners must provide cleaning products and equipment for One-Off or for the End of Tenancy cleaning services. Any Initial visit is considered a One-OFF service.
  • Homely Shine is not responsible for triggering alarm systems. The customer is responsible for providing special instructions for deactivating and activating household alarm systems. 
  • Parking costs may apply and must be paid by the customer if no allocated parking is available at the property. The customer is fully liable for parking penalties incurred due to their mistake or misinformation.  
  • The Client shall ensure that all valuables are stored away when work is carried out and that the Client or his representative supervises the property during the work. The Company shall not be responsible for the Client’s failure to comply with this obligation. 

For the Deep Cleanings or the End of Tenancy cleanings.

  • Fridges and Freezers should be emptied, defrosted before arrival, and turned off so we can clean them. 
  • The client must provide electricity and hot running water at the premises where the cleaning is conducted. If it fails to do so, Homely Shine cannot be held responsible for incomplete or delayed work.
  • Homely Shine is not licensed to clean properties infected by insects. This is a specialist service that requires the expertise of a pest control company. 
  • We do not guarantee or offer successful cleans or re-cleans (within 7days)  in poor-quality properties, including marks, mould, or stains on Silicone, grout, ovens, walls, windows, paintwork, or particular carpets. Sometimes, these properties may be beyond cleaning and require repainting or replacement. 
  • The Client must make the final payment before the cleaner leaves the Client’s premises. All Invoices/certificates will not be issued until full payment has been received. 
  • If the Client requests keys to be collected froma location other than the scheduled cleaning site,a £10.00 charge will apply. If the keys must be returned to the pickup address or a different location, an additional £10.00 charge will apply. 
  • The customer can add public liability insurance coverage (£1 000 000) for £10 monthly for regular services, or £10 for a one-off visit (voluntary ). Homely Shine cannot accept liability for the first £100 of any claim. 
  • If you cancel your booking at the last minute (12 hours’ notice), you will be charged a cancellation fee: £7.50 for regular visits or £25for the end-of-tenancy cleaning.

How it works for Cleaners:

  • This is a self-employed position, and I will help you with this documentation. It is easy. 
  • A car is a great advantage, but your personal and professional skills come first.  Working 3-5 hours/day, you can earn £48-80. Payment by cash or bank transfer on the day of cleaning. 

As a cleaning professional, you must be:

  • Willingness to perform all the typical household tasks required by your clients to the best of your ability
  • Reliability and honesty
  • Able to speak & communicate with clients in English
  • Supply at least two written references before any work begins
  • Prompt attendance for interviews and cleaning days at the time due, or notification to the client and us well in advance if you can’t make it
  • Flexibility to consider occasional one-off tasks that require extra time, by negotiation with your client
  • Commitment to keeping your clients happy with a great job, every time. 
  • Sometimes, a Practical test will be necessary to demonstrate your ability to work without supervision.
